In a state like Haryana that is strong in the manufacturing sector, the dept is doubly beneficial and crucial for the B.Tech students of our college. With its well-equipped labs, perfect co-ordination among the faculty & sophisticated instruments, the dept has been more than successful in imparting proper and latest knowledge to the students.

The dept is popular for pioneering student chapters of ISTE & AIEEE and the “Mechfusion” club for students.


Mr Vineet Singla heads the department. It has a well-knitted team of teachers who are dedicated to their work and make their mark in the technological education. In fact it is the 2nd largest dept in the college.

The mission of the HoD is:
“ To impart high quality education and training to students to make them world-class engineers with a foresight to the changes and problems, and pioneer to offer innovative solution to benefit the nation and the world at large”.

The department is one of the oldest of the college, started in1998. The Mechanical Engineering Dept is one of the largest in terms of faculty, students, and activities, continues to lead and expand its activities in various directions. In a state like Haryana, where there are large numbers of manufacturing companies, this course brings in large number of opportunities for any mechanical engineer.

The department having a perfect team of faculty members, working in team and well-equipped labs, experimental and computational facilities have always provided the continuous and updated knowledge to our students. Some key features about us are:

Departmental Club and Other Activities

We also have a very active departmental club, MECHFUSION, which undertakes many curricular and co-curricular activities. We regularly arrange expert classes from institutes of repute. All in all we put emphasis on all-round development of the students. In addition modern computer applicator courses like PRO-E have been conducted for mechanical engineering students.

At present 90 seats intake for admission to first semester and 09 seats for 3rd. semester, under lateral entrance scheme, stand approved by AICTE, and generally all the seats are filled. The course structure is as per the norms of Kurukshetra University for all the eight semesters of Graduate course.

The College is a member of Indian Society for Technical Education.

The Department organized AICTE sponsored National Level Workshop with Computer Science and Engineering Department on “The Programme of Environment and Pollution Awareness” on 19th. June 04. MED has also put forth to proposal to organize a National Level Seminar to AICTE.

The Faculty of MED is also involved in inter departmental activities for the effective awareness of the department and the growth of college as a whole.
Many of the Faculty members have been deputed for specialized training/higher studies so far.

MED is active in interaction with industry and institutions. High ranking Management professionals and Professors from various reputed industries and institutions like Maruti Udyog Ltd, Liberty, Escorts, N.I.T., Kurukshetra, Delhi College of Engineering, IIT Roorkee, Fore School of Management, NITTTR Chandigarh have delivered expert lectures here.

MED is active in inter departmental and inter institutional activities. In addition to its own “Mechfusion Club”, which promotes student activities in Technical and non-technical Quiz and paper presentations and publication of “Wings magazine” and Web platform for students the M.E.D. Sponsors and organizes Technical Events and Fests inviting students from other institutes and universities to participate.

We are also in touch with many other industries.

We also promote our faculty to participate in National/International Conferences and Workshop for paper presentations. In last year, many of our faculty has presented papers in various Institutes like
