DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 1998 and started UG programme with the aim of imparting quality education and producing highly skilled professionals in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The Department introduced PG programme in the year 2004. PROGRAMMES OFFERED: Bachelor of Technology (Electronics and Communication Engineering) Master of Technology (Electronics and Communication Engineering) The Department has the best possible facilities and well-qualified and experienced faculty to run both the programs.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES: Electronics and Communication Engineering offers scope in the field of research, robotics, defense, radio communication, TV broadcasting, telegraphy and telephony, nuclear science, wireless communication and signal processing.
LABORATORIES The Department has thirteen laboratories to conduct all experiments as per the curricula. A brief description of the laboratories is as follows:
This Laboratory has all the kits for performing all the electrical and electronic circuit experiments to verify various network theorems and the functioning of electronic circuits and components. It also has transformers. This laboratory has all the equipment and components to perform all the ten experiments as per syllabus for 1st year B.Tech.
In this Laboratory we have equipment, instruments, integrated circuits chips (ICs) and all other components to perform experiments based on analog electronics.
In this Laboratory we have equipment, instruments, integrated circuits chips (ICs) and all other components to perform experiments based on digital electronics.
This Laboratory has both 8085 and 8086 microprocessor kits in sufficient number and various interfacing cards like 8253, 8255, ADC and DAC reader cards, microcontrollers, Z-80, SMPS and EPROM eraser.
In this Laboratory students are given electronics circuit design problems to meet certain specifications. Once the design is complete, the circuit is implemented on the bread-board and analyzed to verify specifications.
This Laboratory has kits and equipment to study various modulation techniques used in communication.
In this Laboratory we have more than 20 computer systems loaded with MATLAB and VHDL softwares. This lab is used for experiments on digital signal processing and VHDL in two semesters.
This Laboratory has all the equipment and work-benches for performing experiments on microwaves.
This Laboratory has colour TV kit and CD drive kit to understand the technology behind colour TV and CD players. This laboratory also has Tape-recorder, CRO, Function Generator.
This Laboratory has facilities for implementing various B.Tech. Projects.
This Laboratory has all kits needed to study various digital modulation techniques. This lab is also used as Measuring Instruments and Transducers lab in one semester by B. Tech. Students.
This Laboratory has 20 PCs loaded with MATLAB software. It also has COMMSIM-7 software for simulation experiments of communication systems.
This Laboratory has been added for IT UG students as per their curriculum. The department has the following softwares:
