Civil Engineering Department With traditional emphasis on continuous growth and fulfilling the need for deployment of civil engineers by the various Govt. agencies and Industries around the region, management of N C College of Engineering took a decision to introduce under graduate course in civil engineering besides the other ongoing courses. The civil engineering department was established in the year 2007 with a sanctioned intake strength of 60 students per year. As such the Ist batch of civil engineering students shall be graduating from this institute in May/June,2011. The department has well past it’s stage of infancy and is now very well established in terms of infrastructure. It can boast of very well qualified faculty team consisting of academicians and experienced persons from industries. 8 Nos. of well equipped laboratories namely soil, concrete & structures with help of qualified technicians and lab assistants provide the necessary practical knowledge and in depth study of subjects while fulfilling the curriculum requirement. The department has got a sufficient built up floor space to house the lecture halls, seminar halls and labs. Efforts are on to establish new digital image processing/ digital terrain modeling lab apart from modernizing the existing labs. Modern coaching techniques including power point presentation with projection facilities in all lecture rooms are in vouge. Going by the track records of the placement for other undergraduate courses in the college it is expected to have an excellent placement in campus for our budding civil engineers. The department is already in the list and minds of prospective employers both in private and public sector enterprises for recruitment. List of laborateries.
